Author: Phr. Lim

Eating egg can lead to high cholesterol?

Only egg yolk portion contains cholesterol. No evidence to prove that moderate egg consumption will lead to high cholesterol. Unless your doctor or pharmacist stop you from taking it, otherwise, it is OK to consume moderately.

What does it mean by moderate consumption?

Although there is no strict guideline, we recommend not more than 2 to 3 eggs per day for an adult and not more than 1 to 2 for a child.

Raw egg contains more nutrient?

Ways of cooking does affect the nutrients of an egg. However, do take note that raw egg might contain bacteria like salmonella which can lead to food poisoning. We advice pregnant women and children to avoid taking raw egg.

What is the difference between a yellow and an orange egg yolk?

When it comes to yolks, the colour is determined by a hen’s diet. The difference in colour bears no relation to the flavor, nutritional value or quality of the egg. However, studies showed egg from probiotic-fed-hen contains more omega and nutrients, better in taste and its yolk is brighter orange in colour.
